Resilience is when I face something seemingly hard or scary...but tell myself you’ve handled so much all these years, you can do it! Your soothing voice, calm and reassuring is an easy delight to listen to, Patricia! I love my exercising, but can do better with diet...thanks for that nudge! 😊I so appreciate your posts/site and others who keep ageism front and center! We are growing older, not old!! And lastly... thank you for reworking an old piece... evergreen we call them here (US) 😊They stand the test of time, building in value! Well done, my friend! 🫶😊👏👏

Hi Pat, Thank you again for your bolstering podcast. A good friend once said to me: very few people reach adulthood with out sustaining some kind of emotional wound. Some people have truly terrible childhoods, forced to relay on the protection of an inadequate parent. The truth is, no matter how bad things are, you will normally find someone worse off than you. I'm not saying suffering is a good thing; sometimes it completely breaks people. However, I do think having a bit of perspective is helpful. Learning to resolve your own problems certainly builds a sense of confidence in your ability to cope with life. So that when something truly awful happens you will choose to survive.

I think ageism is still prevalent in our society. I'm so glad there is a wave of resistance building. There are so many actresses I've seen come and go, there time in the light so much shorter than their male counterparts. Film should be reflective of the society it serves. These days we hear so much about inclusivity; sadly older women are still a demographic that is not fully represented. Life in all it's aspects needs to be celebrated.
